Built with an enterprise-grade security mindset
We design Kharch Log the way serious finance apps should work: least privilege, clear consent, and no “upload your whole life to our cloud ledger.” That means:
- Your Google Sheet is the source of truth — expenses sync to a sheet in your Drive when you enable Sheets sync.
- Limited Google scopes — we ask for the Drive/Sheets access needed for the app folder/file you use, not blanket access to your entire Drive.
- SMS stays on-device for capture — if you grant SMS permission, bank/UPI messages are read on your phone to draft expenses. We do not run an ad network on your SMS.
- Review before it sticks — unclear messages land in a needs-review inbox so you stay in control.
- HTTPS license checks — paid unlock is verified against our license API; payment cards are handled by Razorpay (we do not store full card numbers).
- Sign in with Google — no separate password for us to lose.
No product is “unhackable,” but we refuse the common pattern of storing every rupee on a random third-party database you cannot export. Read the full story in our Privacy Policy.
Your data stays yours
Daily kharch, UPI spends, cash notes, salary labels — they belong in your spreadsheet. Uninstall the app and your Sheet remains in Google Drive. Revoke access anytime under Google Account → Third-party access.
That is the opposite of lock-in: open the Sheet in a browser, Excel, or another tool whenever you want.

Why we built it
Indian spending is UPI-first and SMS-noisy. Budget apps either ignore SMS, force a proprietary cloud, or bury you in subscriptions. Kharch Log is built for that reality: capture → review → your Sheet — with a one-time price and a company that also ships local-first desktop tools.
